For certified copies of specific documents, contact the District Clerk's office directly. Copies are available for a per-page fee, with an additional certification fee for certified copies. The clerk can handle requests in person or by mail.

The Nueces County District Clerk's website at co.nueces.tx.us is the primary place to search for Corpus Christi felony case records online. Use the case search tool to look up by party name or cause number. The system shows charge descriptions, case status, and major case events. It is free to use and does not require an account.

The statewide re:SearchTX portal is another option. It is maintained by the Texas Office of Court Administration and covers district courts across Texas, including Nueces County. Re:SearchTX is useful when you want to check whether a person has criminal cases in Corpus Christi and other Texas counties at the same time. All searches are free and do not require registration.

For certified copies of case records, contact the Nueces County District Clerk at (361) 888-0580. The office handles requests in person at 901 Leopard St. or by mail. Bring the cause number if you have it, since name-based requests for common names may require additional identifying information. The office is open weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Corpus Christi Police Department Records

The Corpus Christi Police Department handles public records requests for police incident reports, arrest records, and related documents. CCPD records are maintained separately from the Nueces County District Clerk's court records. Police records reflect what officers observed and documented during an incident or arrest, not what happened after charges were filed in court.

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public access to government records, including police records. CCPD must respond to public information requests within 10 business days. Incident reports for closed cases are generally available. Open investigation records may be withheld. You can submit requests in person at the police department or by following the process outlined on the CCPD website.

Corpus Christi Municipal Court

The Corpus Christi Municipal Court handles Class C misdemeanors and city ordinance violations. These cases are not felonies. Municipal court records are kept separate from Nueces County felony records. If you need records for minor violations or city-level charges, the municipal court is the correct place to look.

Note: Municipal court handles Class C cases only and those records do not appear in the Nueces County District Clerk's felony case search system.
