Lubbock County District Clerk Felony Records

The Lubbock County District Clerk is the official record keeper for all felony cases in Lubbock. The office is on the second floor of the Lubbock County Courthouse at 904 Broadway. All felony indictments, pleas, jury verdicts, and final judgments are filed with this office. Records are accessible in person at the courthouse during business hours. The county also provides online case search capabilities for free public access.

When searching Lubbock felony records in person, you can use the public terminals at the clerk's office to look up cases by name or cause number at no charge. For copies of filed documents, a per-page copy fee applies. Certified copies carry the standard per-page fee plus an additional certification charge. Staff can assist with records requests, and more complex requests may require time to locate older physical files.

Lubbock Police Department Records

Public information requests to LPD are governed by Texas Government Code Chapter 552. The department has 10 business days to respond. Incident reports for closed matters are typically available. Records related to active investigations may be withheld or redacted in part. You can request records in person at the Records Division or follow the process listed on the LPD website for submitting written requests.

Lubbock Municipal Court

The Lubbock Municipal Court handles Class C misdemeanors and city ordinance violations. These cases are not felonies and are maintained separately from the Lubbock County District Clerk's felony records. If you need records for traffic citations or city-level violations, the municipal court is the right office to contact.

Note: Municipal court records are Class C level only. They will not appear in a Lubbock County felony case search.
